Headstand is an innovative non-profit organization that brings stress reduction techniques and yoga to youth in economically-disadvantaged communities.

Headstand brings higher levels of academic achievement, lower stress levels, and physical and mental fitness to students through yoga, breathing, and meditation techniques.

At The Art of Yoga Project we specialize in working with incarcerated teen girls offering trauma-informed and strength-based programming. The cornerstone of The Art of Yoga Project is the Yoga and Creative Arts Curriculum, a secular course that combines health education, character development, yoga, meditation and creative arts. This gender-responsive program teaches at-risk girls to identify the issues that cause them to make poor choices; manage their anger and impulses; become accountable for their actions, to themselves and their communities; and develop a productive outlet for their emotions and dreams.

Each session begins with a rigorous, strengthening yoga practice and continues with a creative art activity. Throughout the class, trained facilitators lead discussions on themes such as non-violence, tolerance, sexual ethics, and integrity. Currently, we serve girls in California’s San Francisco Bay Area where we have a proven track record of success and a longstanding relationship with probation and the juvenile justice system

Our vision is to lead teen girls in the California Juvenile Justice System toward accountability - to themselves, to others and to their community. By providing practical tools to effect behavioral change, we aspire to be a nationally recognized method for the effective treatment of at-risk adolescent girls, particularly in the juvenile justice system.

305 Spiritual Gangsters is a not for profit organization (partnered with Art Studio Miami, a 501c3) that teaches yoga to communities in crisis in Miami and raises funds to support global outreach missions. Serving within the juvenile justice and education systems, homeless shelters, community centers, and with the Department of Children and Families 305SxGx has touched the lives of more than 500 inner city youth. To date we have offered more than 300 free yoga classes. This year we launched the Urban Guru Scholarship Project. In this program scholarship winners chosen from one of our local programs are offered career training and upon completion of the training, immediate job placement within our organization

On a global perspective, 305SxGx is a proud partner project of Off The Mat Into The World and has raised more than $20k to support their 2009 Ugandan Seva Challenge. In 2010 we raised $30k for the Khushi Foundation helping to build a new school in Rishikesh India. We also support Africa Yoga Project, the Red Cross, Yele Haiti and many more.

In just three years we have levied $100,000 and have touched the lives of countless.

It only takes $150 to fund a 6 week yoga program! Take the Yoga Aid Challenge and help us help the youth of Miami and beyond.

Uses three fundamental aspects of yoga to create lasting change in African communities: Unity, Possibility and Non-Violence. Hundreds of students in Kenya and Nairobi, many of whom have been personally affected by HIV/AIDS and living on less than $2 per day have had the opportunity to develop their lives, communities and livelihoods by participating in the activities of the Africa Yoga Project.
Widereaching and inclusive, the project introduces young people to the balancing practice of yoga but also provides educational scholaships, job training, food stipends and housing and health services. Their inspiring work promotes peace, community, wellness and hope for those in need.
