As both a yoga teacher and dedicated yogi I am blessed in knowing how many positive benefits yoga has weaved into my life. Yoga is a gift and an inspiration, providing strength, balance and peace of mind from the inside out. Yoga teaches us not just to receive well but to give well. We are all a part of the Universe and each and every being lends a unique contribution that makes this world whole and complete. Yoga is an individual practice but it is also very much about community. As I always like to say, we come together and practice as one. What better way to give of ourselves than to give selflessly for the good of others. I hope many will find space in their lives to take part in Yoga Aid. The charity of my choice is the Africa Yoga Project, which is inspired by three fundamental aspects of yoga: unity, possibility and non-violence. The project provides educational scholarships, job training, food stipends and housing and health services while promoting peace, wellness and a sense of community to those in need.
