About Me
In support of greater success, happiness and fulfillment in life, I’m committed to the practice of yoga and believe that health and wellbeing are amazing results of a committed yoga practice, but the actual purpose of yoga is to awaken our highest potential as human beings. Aspiring to Gandhi's words of, "Be the change you wish to see…", I hope that yoga will inspire people to explore their potential on the mat and take that playful curiosity into the rest of their lives to spark a sense that anything and everything is possible… Based on my experience and understanding of the Ashtanga and the Krishnamacharya lineage (KYM), my classes focus on physical alignment, dynamic movement and breath awareness. Defined as vinyasa krama— a step-by-step approach—sequencing classes in this way builds a solid foundation of mindful movement to gain physical strength and flexibility, reduce stress and quiet the mind. Grounded in a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere my classes are insightful and challenging bringing a balance of intensity and grace to each class. Together with simple pranayama and meditation, I aim to create a practice that is simultaneously challenging and calming leaving you energized and centered benefiting you long after you've left your mat. An international adventuress, I’m currently living in Vancouver, BC teaching yoga around the city. I am the Director of Learning and Development at YYoga and also work as a freelance writer focusing on travel, health and lifestyle. When I’m not on my mat or typing on my laptop, I can be found outside taking in the mountain air or the sea breeze, whizzing around on my bike or planning my next surf retreat.
